Sovtek Info The Sovtek 5881 delivers a warm, round tone that "sweetens" any vintage or modern guitar amp design. Chances are if an amp uses 6L6-style output tubes, it has Sovtek 5881's in its sockets. Built to rigid military standards, the 5881 will tolerate higher voltages than any other 6L6. In fact, they're frequently used as replacements for the old 7027 model in vintage Ampegs. Extremely consistent from piece to piece, The Sovtek 5881 is the most reliable current production 6L6 available. Used by Marshall, Soldano, Solo, and others. The Sovtek 5881 has a heater voltage of 6.3 volts at 0.88 amperes. Maximum plate voltage is 250 volts while maximum plate current is 73 mA. The 5881 has a Transconductance rating of 6000 micromhos and a maximum output power of 5.8 watts. 5881WXT The Sovtek 5881WXT is the same as the 5881 but with a full size base for easy installation in vintage amp designs. Used by Fender, Crate, Carvin, etc.
5U4G The Sovtek 5U4G is a directly heated diode designed to rectify alternating voltage in general-purpose radio equipment. The Sovtek 5U4G has a maximum output of 250 mA, filament voltage of 5 V and filament current is 3 mA +/- 0.3 mA. 6550WD The Sovtek 6550WD and 6550WE were designed to be the finest 6550's ever produced. Unlike traditional 6B4G's, which consist of dual triodes connected in parallel inside the tube's envelope, the Sovtek 6B4G utilizes a single triode design with a Directly Heated cathode element. This updated design eliminates differential resistance loading common to other 6B4G's, yielding a much more reliable tube. In addition, the Sovtek 6B4G has a lower inter-electrode capacitance, offering a wider frequency response with high sound detail. The Sovtek 6B4G is identical to the original 6B4G in appearance, electrical specs, and overall and connecting dimensions, yet it yields 40% higher power at 30% lower non-linear distortion levels. The 6B4G has a heater current of 1 A and a plate current of 60 mA. Transconductance is 5.5 mA/V while the tube has an amplification factor of 2.2 and an output power of 3 watts.
